Patience
I took a class in college called "The God We See". It was about art, philosophy, God's mark in creation, and virtues among other things. My favorite part of the class was reading excerpts by Henri Nouwen regarding patience. Most likely because patience was (and still is) something I needed to work on. A few homework challenges were driving without the radio on or above the speed limit, not checking your phone while waiting in line, and only being able to walk slowly everywhere. The First Few Days Overseas
Hello! (Below is an update I posted on our - Sophie's and my - personal blog page. Feel free to visit it at themccanns.blog!) Well for the last 10 minutes I've been spending time on this rooftop and then on a balcony, thinking of what to tell you guys. Rest
Christmastime was hard at times but also amazing at times. It was also very busy. My uncle passed away suddenly in the middle of December so the McCann family traveled to Canada immediately. This was the closest death I’ve ever experienced and it was tough, but extended family being together at a moments notice was definitely something special. Then we returned to my hometown, Marshfield, WI for Christmas. The day after Sophie and I went north to northern Wisconsin for more celebrations and to be with her family for the New Year. Save Me from Myself
Sophie and I got each other Kindles for Christmas. It was a good Cyber Monday deal and I am pretty sure they got here before December, but we decided to “gift” them to each other right out of the Amazon box. All that to say, if it wasn’t for access to free books I probably would not be reading Save Me from Myself by Brian “Head” Welch, the guitarist from the metal band Korn.
