When Peoples Gather Together

Posted on Saturday, February 10, 2018

“Let this be recorded for a generation to come,
so that a people yet to be created may praise the LORD:
that he looked down from his holy height;
from heaven, the LORD looked at the earth,
to hear the groans of the prisoners,
to set free those who were doomed to die,
that they may declare in Zion the name of the LORD,
and in Jerusalem his praise,
when peoples gather together,
and kingdoms, to worship the LORD.” ~ Psalm 102:18-22

I’ve been in training with a group of others for a month now, and I have two weeks to go. Today, I said “goodbye” to many dear friends. In my grief, however, I am full of joy and excitement! I am so glad for where God has brought me through this journey, though it has been long and hard. I am incredibly thankful for and blessed by the people I’ve interacted with along the way—those who have been with me since the beginning, and those who have joined me now.

While the training has been to prepare us all to work in our various fields, this time has proven to be so much more valuable. I’ve been able to hear the stories of others as we all go throughout the world. I’ve heard their testimonies, their passions, their love for their respective people groups, and their hearts. I am in awe of the Lord’s master plan which I have the privilege to be part of. It is so cool to see some of the workings of His plan to bring about what this Psalm proclaims! I am amazed by and excited for what He has been doing, and what He will be doing through all of us!

This is by no means an easy task. The grieving process has proven that much! But it is so much more valuable than anything else on earth!

“I run straight toward the goal to win the prize that God’s heavenly call offers in Christ Jesus.” ~ Philippians 3:14
