Worshipers in a Post-Christian World

Posted on Tuesday, August 29, 2017

Missions exists because worship does not” (John Piper).

Throughout scripture, God is consistently calling mankind to worship him. Not just by singing songs or strumming some chords on the guitar. We could all do that, whether we sounded like Whitney Houston or a dying cat. No, God is calling all of us to worship Him with our entire lives. Our work, our time, our money, and even our thoughts, it all belongs to Him.

  • God calls us to Worship Him in all that we do
  • The Church’s worship inspires others to do the same
  • Please pray for Spain and for this ministry to reach it...

God isn’t just a control freak with insecurities asserting Himself over others to fill His constant need for affirmation. He is all that is right and just and loving and good in the World (James 1:17). Our Savior, simply aims to unite us with Himself in order to present us “holy and blameless and above reproach before (our Father)” (Colossians 1: 22). And beyond that, He aims to transform us into “little Jesuses” (Martin Luther). Once we surrender our lives to the King, we move into His service and we worship Him in word and in deed (Colossians 3:17).

So, why does the world need more worshipers?

This transition from doing the works of our own passions to the work of the Lord is hard to keep up and we need each other to stay focused and on task. God gives us His Church as one means to accomplish the healing and sanctification of His little Jesuses. But the Love of Jesus not only shines within the Church, but out into the local community as well. As redeemed persons who are experiencing the transformational power of God and His Truth, we worship our Lord by inciting worship in other’s lives. Going forth and making disciples is making peoples who sing praise to the only One worthy of praise, in voice, in deed, and in spirit.

My Mission in Spain

Now back to that controversal quote from John Piper. The reason we send worshipers to a new place half-way accross the world is because we see there is an extreme lack of worship happening there. That is, the people as a whole do not recognize the need for a savior and will not turn to God and live for Him. Their lives are not joined to His. Spain, like most of Europe and a good portion of the United States is considered by many to be a post-Christian society. This means that the country as a whole, in many ways, has fallen away from faith in Jesus. Faith and conquest has been constant in Spain throughout history, but most often it is a faith that falls short of the Gospel of Christ. Yet, the evangelical (faith-sharing) Church, despite centuries of rejection and even persecution, continues foreword proclaiming God’s restoration of the world.

As one who is being forever transformed by the power of Jesus, I strive to co-create a world of passionate service to God by loving, encouraging, and leading others to a life filled with purpose in the will of our Creator. The purpose of my partnering with the local Church in Spain will be to help equip and urge the locals to share their faith in order that their worship of Him in the Holy Spirit will transform the community winning their families, neighbors, and compañeros to the heart of God.

Pray with Me:

  • That my team of supporters with assemble quickly in order to get this worker to the field!
  • That the hearts and minds of those whom God is preparing in Spain will be receptive to the news of Jesus’ restorative power, love, and forgiveness.
  • That Spain would be filled with a people worshiping our Creator and sharing His love with the world.
