I've been spending a lot of time in coffee shops lately. Coffee is one of my favorite things in life, so I'm definitely not upset about this lifestyle change. The reason I'm in coffee shops may or may not be obvious, depending on what you know about my life currently. I'm about to wrap up my THIRD WEEK of support raising! Whoaaaa. It feels like it's been 5 seconds, but I'm already 1/4 of the way through my 3 months! I've already learned so much--I have learned that Facebook has a limit of how many messages you can send in a day, I've learned that making a schedule and actually sticking to it is significantly harder when you have no "homework deadlines" and no one in charge of you but yourself, and I finally know how to answer the question "What's next after graduation?" although I might be a little bit late to the party on that one.
More importantly than all of those things, I am learning what it looks like to not have control over something. That is not something that comes easily to me, and I have fought with it pretty much all of the last 3 weeks and long before that too. But, there are some things that you just don't have control over--like other people. And other people is what this whole process is about. God is continually reminding me that I have zero control over this process, while also reminding me that me not having control is the best thing for me. He is showing me how He can provide. When I let Him take the lead in my conversations, in my daily life, He continually amazes me with His power and perfect timing.
I still have at least 2 months left of this process, and I am incredibly excited while also being a little scared to see what else the Lord is going to teach me during this time. It's not going to be easy, and giving up control is never a one-time thing, but I know that the Lord has incredible things planned for me not only for when I go to Berlin, but here and now as I start my ministry at home in the support raising process.
Thank you to everyone who has chosen to come along side me already, and I can't wait to see who else God brings onto my team!
