Before the Lord came into my life, I often wondered who, what, and how I can fit in the world. As a child growing up I always dreaded the question "What do you want to do when you grow up?" because I never had an answer to give. I didn't want to become a doctor, a nurse, a singer, dancer, astronaut, etc., but I knew deep in my heart that I wanted to be somebody doing something awesome. When I was 16 years old, the Lord changed my life completely. I was the only Christian in my big, broken family and I finally felt True Love for the first time. I grew up strong and independent, self-reliant, and self-motivated. But God. God revealed that He created me to be dependent on Him, motivated by His love, and with gazelle intensity for Kingdom work for a Kingdom cause in the world. After I graduated high school in 2010 I thought I was certain about pursuing international business and dance, so I pursued it in college. However, God revealed to me very quickly in my first semester of college that international business and dance were not the things God wanted me to pursue. After that, I quit school completely because at the time I was completely lost and unmotivated by it. I knew who I was as a child of God, but I struggled with what I was supposed to do. I didn't like math, science, and English, and I definitely was not good at art. So what then? I soon hit a plateau in my life where I didn't have dreams, I didn't have a vision for my life, and I didn't know what the purpose of my life was. I was confused and lost. Then in 2014, God awakened my heart to His redemptive plan for the world through personal study time of the book of Romans, and the life and ministry of Jesus and the apostle Paul. My heart had never felt so alive. It felt like taking that first grasp of fresh air after drowning, except it was 4 years of drowning. God had given me the missional calling. I was to be a missionary to the world of the least reached. I was so excited and I wanted to start right away so I went back to school. It had been a long journey with school, but praise the good Lord for pulling me through. I've said yes to Jesus in my lonely apartment room, and I am still saying yes to Jesus today; it's the best decision I've ever made in my life. Soon I will be launched to my first mission field. It's all still a little surreal to me, but that's only because I am so joyful that I have been given the privilege to be a part of God's redemptive plan for the world.
