I have been living and serving here for a year now!! My commitment is already halfway done! This year has held so many amazing memories and lessons from our Father. Thank you for walking alongside me and supporting me in this journey. The past month has been filled with so many exciting experiences and I have been looking forward to telling you about them.
I started teaching the prenatal class to some of our African clients. It has been so fun to get an opportunity to use this passion of mine to walk alongside these women in their experience as new mothers.
My weekly schedule consists of spending a lot of time at the homes of our refugee friends. A visit could be a prenatal visit; helping women with their new babies, debriefing their labor experiences, offering breastfeeding counseling, and being with mommy. But I am also visiting a lot of Syrian families. We are walking with them through the bible (Creation to Christ). My friend 'H' is very interested and we are excited to get the experience to share with her. And if we are extra lucky, they feed us yummy Syrian food.
Outside of work, I recently got the opportunity to be a doula at my friends birth. I got to support her before, during, and after her labor. She had a fantastic smooth labor and gave birth to sweet baby Daniel here!
