You are not a missionary first, you are a child of God.
I am glad to know you are obeying the Great Commission. Do not forget that you are a son or daughter of God through Jesus Christ before you are a "missionary." There was an Iranian woman that came to our church. She attended our baptism class consistently. She shared with her younger sister weekly. The younger sister was jaded on religion coming from her native Islamic country. She believed that religion was oppressive and degrading of women. Our fellowship has started a bible study. We have had a consistent, small group attend and be very engaged. A lady came in crying with deep sorrow and sadness. She was overwhelmed with caring for her children with disabilities, lack of finances, and tiredness altogether. We sat and listened, allowed her to cry as we sat silently comforting. I asked God to give us an opportunity to speak into her life in a way that was genuinely helpful to her. We continued the bible study, and God did exactly that. I love our Persian fellowship. We have many brothers and sisters we love. There is one in particular I am discipling. One day he texts me on his own accord and he says, “Tim please be sure not to make a mistake on my education. I am sharing with my family.” This brought me so much joy as I know he is being obedient and is serious about learning sound doctrine, so that he can share sound doctrine. He is being encouraged to seek the word for his ultimate truth. Praise God for his grace and sovereignty in his life.

I reached out and reconnected with a Turkish friend I met in my beginning months here in Turkey. He is a practicing Muslim. We met two months ago and opened up the Scriptures together. He was intrigued, but not fully interested (it seemed to me). Then, we finally met again for breakfast.
