Johnny and I have spent the past few days in a classroom surrounded by 16 others who share a heart for the people of this world and for sharing the gospel through every country and in every context. It has been such an incredible time of encouragement as well as a deep growing and learning experience. At the end of this week we step into our next stage in our journey to Germany, which is support raising.
Before this week there were so many fears and doubts about how this could even be possible, how would I ever raise what is needed, how would I ever overcome my anxiety, how would I make it through this time? These past few days have so focused me and brought me back around to realizing that this time is not about me this time is about God. I am not asking people to give to me, I am asking people to give to God’s mission in His world. The Biblical basis for this was so overwhelming within the first few days and now it is such an encouragement to know that I have no reason to worry because I know that God has called Johnny and I to this and He is a big God that does big things. You see his provision through support through the stories of the Levites, Paul, and even Jesus Himself. I am now able to look forward to the next few months excited to see how God grows and stretches us as he teaches us to lean on and trust Him as we never have before.
It is also nice to know we are not going through this alone, through the prayer of loves ones, support of formed cohorts here this week, and the group of five that we are part of (see picture) that we will actual travel to and serve in Germany with, we are going to be so supported and encouraged. We are ready to Go!
