...but that is why this is going to be such an adventure!
Bear with me as I am not a novelist but I am still so excited to be able to share my life and vision with all of you as I go through this whole new journey over the next couple years!
Even these past couple months have been a crazy journey, actually! Although I have known for most of my life that I wanted to do some kind of work abroad, I got into that typical post-graduate rut. As I was frantically searching for a full-time, good-paying job around Azusa, I had this insistent thought in the back of my mind that I did not want to be stuck a cubicle doing mindless work. But, what could I do without any income to pay my rent? At one point, a friend, to whom I had been talking about my passion for Europe and France, recommended that I check out GoCorps. So I looked at their site and completed their application because it had been free for that week. However, I had little to no intention of following through with them because I knew that if I was going to join an organization to travel abroad, I wanted to go through Youth With a Mission in France.
As time went on, a week and then a month and then two months passed without any word from any of the 16 jobs I had applied to (one of them being a job that I was extremely qualified for). So, I finished the application process with GoCorps just so that I would have a back-up plan if all of my jobs I had applied for and my one hope of working in France fell through. And, as it turns out, they all did fall through and I began to realize that God was answering my prayers: earlier, I had asked him to make it very clear what he wanted me to do now that I was completely free of other obligations, such as college. And, he made it extremely obvious that teaching English in Prague with GoCorps was the path he wanted me on. Honestly, I am so glad that every other door closed, because I would have taken a job and been uncontent my whole life wondering why I wasn't doing what I loved and what God had called me to do: spread his Gospel overseas.
I am so excited for what is to come but as of right now, for all of you who are reading this, I am asking for some serious prayer that I stay on track and focused as I start raising support and finding people to partner with me financially in this journey!
