Sea of Galilee Waterbeds Inc.

Hello all! I write this blog looking at just three weeks before I will be sitting in Germany and writing a new blog. I sit in a weird state of mind. I am very excited but am also in a very heavy reflective mode. I tend to analyze and ponder on many things but there is one particular question I am still chewing on. I sit with the question "Is Jesus worth it?" but that is followed with a quick and certain "YES!!". It is a great question that I think every person should ask themselves and really chew on.

With that said, I must push forward with all that I have. I have been working non-stop for about 3 months trying to get to this point and there have been many ups and downs. I am not going to lie, I am exhausted mentally! Almost experiencing burnout. Even now, I have reached about 96% and tend to focus on the remaining 4% that I need. I recently was challenged with the idea that God has provided 96% in 12 weeks! That is miraculous!! I find myself in that boat with the 12 disciples and the waves are going crazy around me. (Mark 4:35-41) All we have are sails, oars and frightened feelings. However, as I look over I see that Jesus is calmly sleeping. SLEEPING!!! We all enjoy resting on a day with clouds and a calm drizzle but this was a raging storm. They were on the Sea of Galilee, where it is 696 feet below sea level and this causes violent downdrafts of wind and violent storms! I mean storms worth noting! It is crazy to think Jesus was sleeping but as I think about that I am challenged with something. Jesus had the utmost, perfect and strongest faith and knowing the provision of His Father He was able to sleep in the storm.

In Luke 6:46-49 we see that God has warned us of the storms that will come our way, so it is inevitable. One idea from Luke 6 is do you hear and listen to this warning? And another question is, are you firmly standing on rock or sand? However, I want to look at faith in a different light. Instead of trying to avoid the storm I want to have a pillow of faith that allows me to sleep in the storm. I say pillow because faith is often compared to a pillar or stone, which is definitely appropriate, but what is it that allows us to calmly get rest as we lay our heads on it on stormy nights? A pillow. I want faith like a rock but also faith that comforts me in the inevitable storm. I want to be like Jesus!

So I challenge myself and whoever reads this, don’t focus on the storm we all know is there but focus on the Jehovah Jireh, the provider of everything we need! Lay your head on faith that can’t be shaken by waves and harsh winds. Search for that perfect pillow.
