It’s difficult when I hear wait. Sometimes I’m ok with waiting especially if I don’t want to do something or if I need something to help me finish that job (information, an item or help from someone else). Then there are times when I want something so badly, I have my heart set on it and I’m excited to get started and I’m told to wait. Those times are when I feel like a child again. I want to say “But why? I want it now! …. I can’t wait.” It can be frustrating, and what I’ve noticed more and more often is that we either as humans, people of the 21st century or both have a hard time waiting, being patient. We joke about how if we pray for patience God will give us circumstances to test our patience. Sometimes that seems to be true but the question that remains is why are we waiting and what do we do while we’re waiting? Many times it is to teach a lesson. Not the “I’m going to teach you a lesson” kind of lesson but to help guide you to the answers, the right path. Other times it is for the benefit of others, you need to be where you’re at for a reason you could not have foreseen or will never know but all the same you need to be where you’re at for this time. Behind all of our questions and possible answers is God’s plan. His good and perfect plan.
Jeremiah 29:11"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord. “Plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future.”
Proverbs 19:21 You can make many plans, but the Lord’s purpose will prevail.
While you’re waiting there will be a lot of frustration at times but prayer, reading the Bible, spending time with the people around you and lots of faith will help to guide you through the waiting period, through the waiting room.
