So I've come to the point where I tell people that I've lived in Berlin for 2 years. (It's way easier than saying 22 months) When I tell people, they'll look at me and go, "Oh wow! That's so long! So you're like a Berliner now, right?" One reason for that is because Berlin is full of transient people, so apparently it's a big deal to have been here 2 years. It's so strange to me when people react that way because the 2 years have gone by so fast. I knew they would. But there's a difference between looking forward to 2 years and saying, 'Oh, these years will go by fast,' and looking back and saying. 'Oh, those years went by so fast.' Although the feeling is the same as any other season of life comes to a close. I feel as though I've lived here for such a long time. I've grown and changed so much. It's weird to think that I'm technically the same person that applied to GoCorps 3 years ago. All that to say, time is crazy and life is crazy.
I wanna share this song with all of you. It's a song I've known since I was a child. I started listening to it again right around the time when I applied to come to Berlin. Every single word resonates so strongly with me...the lyrics of the song and also the letter/prayer he shares before the song. It is a constant prayer of mine. It's an oldie, but man is it good. If you're not familiar with the artist, Keith Green, I would you look him up and read his story. His story is amazing and inspiring and encouraging.
