By the end of this week I will have been here for 3 months!!! That's hard to wrap my mind around. So much learning has happened. So many relationships have begun. So many opportunities for Gospel-centered conversations have arisen!
I've been completely shocked in my interactions with classmates at the language school, (this school hosts people from alllll over the world...just last week I found myself in a conversation with 4 other people, and among us, we all represented a different continent. And a guy from continent #6 was standing nearby!), to find out just how many people my age, especially Europeans, have literally never even met a believer. Atheism is simply just law here. It's the way things are. Everyone knows it. Finding out that I believe differently, I become somewhat of a novelty to them. People are so curious to find out why a seemingly normal human would even begin to think differently. This has allowed for some really fascinating conversations that have stretched me and left me feeling eager to dive into some apologetics studies! I certainly have a lot left to learn, but I'm incredibly grateful for the experiences I've had here these first 3 months. I'm looking forward to what's in store as summer comes to an end!
Blessings,
Melissa
