After a week of training, I am blown away by the people God has brought together in this process. I can honestly say i have never created such deep and sincere relationships so quickly--especially in a group of 20! I would be honored to serve alongside every one of my new friends, and know that this summer will be blessed by the perfect beginning.
I expected to walk out of training entirely exhausted and emotionally wrecked by the fear of reality seeping into my bones. Although my understanding of my tasks has finally come into focus, I am not plagued by a debilitating dose of reality. Instead, I am overjoyed to have an upstanding group of peers and fellow Christians walking similar paths, a rock solid staff encouraging us, and the Light of the world illuminating the dark places.
Even though I didn't get to express any cheesy feelings with our group, I'm hoping some of you can read just how much each of you means to me. As I said to some, the ease and joy of forming community with you must be what other (dare I say normal?) people experience in common settings. Despite our differences our similarities really made us click, and this is my first experience with such a blessing. Speaking of blessings...here is one to send us all on our way!
May the peace of the Lord Christ go with you, wherever He may send you. May He guide you through the wilderness, protect you through the storm. May He bring you home rejoicing at the wonders He has shown you. May He bring you home rejoicing once again into our doors.
