GoWeek

Posted on Thursday, May 28, 2015

It's Go Week! I'm finally here and learning about preparing to serve overseas. Wow, it's still crazy to read that. I'm actually doing it! This is not at all what I thought I would be doing after graduation, and a year ago I probably would have laughed at you if you had told me this is what I would be up to.

This week has been jam packed with information. I haven't been in school for almost six months, so I'm definitely out of school mode. There is so much to learn!

The most exciting thing about this week was getting to meet my team. I have been looking forward to seeing who I'll be spending two years with on the other side of the world. It's such a relief to meet everyone and see how God works to bring people together. I'm so blessed to be on the team that I'm on.

The terrifying part of this week is learning about preparation. I've never fundraised like this before. Well, I've really never fundraised at all. This is a whole new kind of challenge, and right now it seems almost impossible. I'm really coming to realize that I cannot do this on my own, and I don't know how I ever thought I could. I'm scared to start the process of raising all the support I need for the next two years in only 100 days, but part of me is also thrilled by the idea that I have no idea what is going to happen!
