Training is almost done for me! Since September, I have been training nonstop, running a race with a clear end goal, and God opened doors wide for me to go and serve Him out in the world. I have flown through support raising, and God did many miraculous things in my life- even by bringing in support from all sorts of relationships in my life. I ended up with half a Master's degree in Theology, a new outlook on missions to Muslims, and a random collecting of strangers who regularly pray for me. It is so crazy to see my life as a reflection of His power, and I am excited to go.
On the flip side of that, I am also expectantly waiting. My departure is starting to become more of a present reality after running a race for so long. Logistics are terrifying- life is complicated, and saying goodbyes are hard, even though I am saying them far away from my home for the second time. At every turn, there are more loose ends to tie up. There are more people wanting to connect before I leave the country. There are more things that I haven't thought of, and more relationships to bring a sense of closure to. All in all, there are a lot of things to look over and take care of before I leave.
One thing that I am thankful for this week is the consistency of God. I am so grateful that God is an anchor I can cling to. Even in the midst of a tumultuous life circumstance where everything seems to be changing, God's character or love for me does not change. I am so grateful to be able to serve a God who cares so abundantly for the world, and has blessed me by showing me a glimpse of that love as well. I have a hard time dealing with change in general and love having a sense of groundedness in my circumstances, but even in the absence of that, God has shown himself to be my rock and shelter as my life shifts upside down. Praise God for how he loves through consistency.
Another thing that I am thankful for is my team. I have had the opportunity to train with two of my teammates and future roommates overseas, and I could not be more abundantly blessed to work alongside these women. They spurn my faith forward, and are quick to pray and listen before responding. They keep me rooted and push me forward, and are hilarious to boot. I am so excited to see what God does through us through our tenure overseas, and I am so thankful to have a foundation to build on overseas. We are people with purpose ready to go.
Please pray for me as I leave the country this upcoming Sunday! I will be traveling with one other teammate, and we will be hitting the ground running once we get there- pray that God would make his presence known beside us as we travel :)
