Oh look, I found my café :)
I have already exceeded the longest amount of time I have ever been away from home!
Every day there seems to be something huge and new. I am still in the process of setting a life pace.
The hardest thing so far has been that basic things seem to take a lot of effort. Going to the post office feels like going to the DMV. Paying for and bagging groceries is supposed to be done ultra quickly! I think I’ve only paid for and gathered my grocery items at an adequate speed once. I was buying 2 things. I have discovered that if you are not ready to get off a bus at your stop by standing right inside the door, a wall of people that are getting on the bus may block you and prevent you from getting off at your stop…hypothetically.
At the same time, there has been so much good intertwined in this time of learning. I am so thankful for all of the great people I have been able to meet already. My team is awesome, and each person gets to play a unique roll. It has been eye opening to see how we’re all different, but free to work together. Also, while newness is challenging, it is equally exciting. I’m half way through my first Hungarian language course! I’ve been able to see both the city and rural parts of Hungary. Early on we had visitors that I could do touristy things with to get to know the city! I’ve been able to see how English camps are run and get my feet wet in our gallery space. While so much is unfamiliar, being here has felt unexpectedly normal. I thank God that I am not alone and that He has brought me here and will guide me to follow Him in every season of this time.
