In Budapest!

Posted on Wednesday, October 14, 2015

I am here!  Today I went all over the city in a light mist of drizzle:)
Thank you so much for everyone that is joining me in this season through prayer, financial support, encouragement, and for following along.  I have been humbled and blown away by the care and devotion that has been committed to what God is doing in Hungary.
I have been grappling with this idea of the layers involved in learning or experience.  For example, reading the New Testament is richer in the context of the Old Testament.  Reading the bible is richer if you get to know the cultural context of the time it was written.
Also, getting to know Budapest is like an art medium.
There needs to be a time to build a foundation before play or experimentation, similarly to how you need to get to know how to draw before you can experiment with drawing.
When you hear or read truth, it is different than when you personally learn it by experience.  The most basic phrase can have profound meaning if you have personally learned its meaning or expanded your perspective from the first time you heard it.
There are levels of understanding; dimension that adds richness and expands initial understanding.
Challenge deepens and expands understanding if there is support during the process of challenge and learning.
I pray that my learning leads to wisdom in God’s leading and not for a stagnant sense of knowledge and security.  I pray to trust in God that I can grow in being an other’s-focused server of God’s Kingdom.  I pray for insecurities to be crushed and for humor to be ever-present.  I pray to support myself during this transformative time by giving myself grace.  I pray for God’s help to share His word through my true testimony.  Praise and Glory to God!
