Support (n.)

a thing that bears the weight of something or keeps it upright.

Support (v.)

bear all or part of the weight of; hold up.

This summer I have been building my support team for my position in Hungary.  Reconnecting with old faces and meeting new ones has been the sweetest part.

So far, I have learned that I can’t take on what I am about to do alone.

As I have received more support members, I have realized how much I will need them, to be lifted up, to share the job of connecting with people for Christ.  I love how God has been using these partnerships to show me his faithfulness.  It has been challenging, but the joy of seeing who is excited about what God is doing in Budapest and in my own life, is so tangible.  He keeps me going, no matter how big the opportunity.

This past month I have been continually reminded of how much I need to lean on God and how much He can take.  I have been trying to be prayerful around everything related to support building, and beyond.  God keeps me on track and calmly reminds me:

Open your hands.

Pray.

Let go of your doubts.

Pray.

Let God fill your heart with passion and peace.

Pray.

Listen.

Pray.

Philippians 4:9 New International Version (NIV)

Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you.

I pray I can put these things into practice.  Praying without ceasing.  Letting go of trying to do things on my own, letting go of doubts, lies and nerves.  Instead, to be filled with His truth and be obedient to His words.  Forgiving myself when I slip up.  To continue with perseverance.  I am so thankful the eternal God is my most authentic critic and biggest encourager!
