As we reflect on the month of March, we are able to see the beauty in pouring out His love on those around us as an overflow of our hearts and not out of our own efforts. He led us to many special times this month and we would like to share the highlights with you.
Women's Day Gathering
March 8th is International Women's Day and a very much celebrated holiday here. This is the day where the women get a break from their duties and receive many flowers and chocolates. Even though it sounds like a great time, and don't get us wrong what woman doesn't like chocolate and flowers, we have been trying to encourage all our students and friends to appreciate and treat women with love and respect all year round. We invited our college age students over for a time of good food, desserts and encouragement. We challenged the girls to not be afraid and to be who G0d created them to be, to not believe in the lies that say that they are never enough. She told them to go after their dreams and pursue their passions, to be BRAVE and truly believe that they are perfect and were created with a purpose. It was a powerful and precious time together.
Small Group
Our precious small group time has been no different. Every time we meet we have been able to continue to show His love for them. As a tradition for birthdays here, every person gives a toast. For our birthday toasts, the depth of the things they said were amazing. The words they said confirms the feelings of truly being a family. These guys are a huge part of our lives now and the best is that they know who we follow, they know who we love, and they continue to be attracted by Him. They continue to want to know His love more, even if they cannot put that into words. Living life with them these past two years has been one of the greatest gifts we could possibly receive.
A Family Visit
We were honored to have our first official guest as a married couple. My father, came and stayed with us for 8 precious days. His time here can be summed up with these 2 words: just right. Despite the jet lagged that made him sleep most of the time (haha), the time we had with him was such a great time of bonding, laughter and historical memories. We got to know Manuel and his heart. Growing up has allowed us to talk about different things and really relate heart to heart. It is no longer about how can he provide for us, but rather how we can know each other more and more. He is a great man with a great heart and we have no doubt that our Father in heaven is working in his life. It was a bl3ssing to be able to celebrate his 53rd birthday and Robins's 26th birthday while he was here. We made and ate great food, we shared old stories, we talked about life and most importantly we were humbled with the fact that we have become the first family members to travel to the other side of the world. We share this not to boast, but to show how faithful G0d is when He promises us that He will take us to the ends of the world to share His love for His glory.
