We can't believe February is gone! Although it was a short month, we feel like we were very productive and have continued to learn more about Him and His heart for us.
Small Group
Most of our small group is graduating this summer and we have been talking a lot about the future. Not knowing what is next can be intimidating but we have been encouraging them to pursue their dreams and not settle for less. We have noticed that the Soviet mindset still echoes in this generation. Our small group and other students have the desire to explore and try new things, but are hindered by the past thought that they can't and the feeling of no opportunities to do so. But the fact that they are a different generation, we have seen what Truth can do to their life and souls. It is awesome to know that our Father has created each one of us uniquely and given us talents; so that is why we hope to continue to encourage them to realize that they can find what makes them feel alive, and ultimately pursue it!
Local Community
This month was nice to be able to celebrate one of our dear friend's birthday. They have been a big part of our lives here. They have helped us understand culture, learn w0rship songs in Russian and we have been encouraging each other to grow our relationship with our Father and in our marriages. Also this month we led another English Seminar, focusing on Public Speaking this time. Since this is our educational area, we were able to give great tips on how to present. The teachers had time to create their own speech and we were able to give individual feedback and they were excited and grateful for it. It has been a nice experience to have these times with our local teachers by helping them practice their English and giving them a few tips on speaking. One of the goals for our English classes is to develop the students ability to critically think. Many of our activities and projects are to teach and encourage them to explore their minds in ways that the local education system doesn't do. We are happy to see the difference that the classes have been making in their thought process and even more proud of them for doing it so well in English.
February came and left so quickly, but it was such a sweet month. We are continuing to learn about the power of abiding in the L0rd, our Father, and how it brings so much transformation to our lives. We no longer worry about things that are not in our hands, and we enjoy the freedom that we can receive only by being under His love. Our lives are changing, our marriage is changing and the way we love people is changing. We invite you to join our Father and abide in Him, that is all He asks of you, to BE with Him.
