Thanksgiving

Posted on Thursday, December 4, 2014

This month presented us with lots of opportunities to be thankful. To start off, this past month I injured my chest muscle in the gym. It was a pretty serious tear and the doctors told me I would be out for at least 6 to 8 weeks. This kind of news is not the best type of news to receive, especially when I find it very difficult to sit still. But as G0d tends to redeem all situations, this seemed like the perfect time to get my attention on a deeper and more intimate level. A part from daily devotionals and times in His presence, this time off was just the perfect time to sit, dream, and listen to my heavenly Father. Often I have always desired to literally sit and do nothing but dream with G0d but because of business of life, work, and m!nistry it always remained a dream. This isn’t the first time I have been encouraged to have such time and it even seems like this is something believers say to one another as an encouragement of some sort. But anyways, not to diminish the simplicity, yet powerful, time of sitting with G0d it truly became the best time I have heard and felt His peace. Not only have I enjoyed and been bl3ssed by this time, 3 weeks into my injury I received the news that my 4 cm tear had been mended and is healing faster than expected. I guess the testimonies I have heard and read in scripture about being healed, blessed, and receiving revelations by being in His presence continue to remain strong.

Another thing that we are thankful for is the time we have spent with our small group. We cooked the traditional dish that consists of horse and dough-like pasta. This meal is typically cooked for special occasions and honored guest so we wanted to show our small group that we have been honored to be friends with them. We have been cooking previous meals together and this special meal was no exception. We have always encouraged the guys to learn how to cook and clean and that encouragement continues. It has been a blast to cook with them and teach them things they would probably would have never learned or tried. The dish turned out successfully and our fellowship time was beyond amazing! We continue to live life with this group and share what we have received: love. Because we believe that G0d is love and love came in the form of a man that spoke truth, we find it fitting to continue to live this way with them. We believe that our Father will and has naturally broke up conversations about Truth and the Good News.

So all in all, there are many things we can be thankful for and are bl3ssed to be able to share such things. G0d is good and our time has been a bl3ssing. May He continue to guide us and lead us as we sit and dream with Him.
