Learning Internationally

Posted on Saturday, November 1, 2014

Life here has been moving along quickly with much to do as always. I just returned Monday from a conference in Japan. Nearly our entire team was able to attend, and God orchestrated it by helping our in-country teammates to get passports, visas, and financing to be able to attend and travel internationally for the first time. We had adventures trying new food, navigating complex train systems, experiencing Japanese culture and customs, and losing a teammate temporarily when she stepped on the wrong train and then the doors closed. It was beautiful and cool (to us) with temperatures 50-70 degrees Fahrenheit. I found it extremely refreshing to be able to comfortably wear a jacket and not be sweating almost constantly.

Through our meetings and discussions at the conference God challenged me to pray more with people when they express a need which allows others to know Him through our conversation in prayer. He also encouraged me to prepare and grow in sharing His Word with others which is a channel He can use to draw people into a closer relationship with Him.

Celebrate with me that God has carried me through my first year here! My one year anniversary for arriving here was on October 11th.
