Guess what? I have the opportunity to go to language school! I'm two weeks into a six week intensive language course at the other end of this lovely country. My teammate and I have the opportunity to jump start our language learning so that we will be able to be more effective in our service for the next 18 months.
We are in an urban college town with many modern conveniences, but it still has a small town feel. During the week we have class in the morning and practice with vendors in the market in the afternoons. Local families are hosting each of us, so we also get to practice in the evenings. I am excited to learn the language better, and I am being pushed out of my comfort zone yet again as I talk with complete strangers in a language I am just beginning to understand. God has been so kind to me, and He has led me to people who have been helpful and gracious.
Please thank God for His faithful provision of language helpers with whom we can practice in the community. Pray that we would be able to focus and learn as much as we can while we are here. It is easy for us to get worn out, overwhelmed, and discouraged, so please pray that God would continue to sustain us for His glory.
