Wow! After about a year of preparation and anticipation, I'm finally here. Wierd! Mostly a good wierd; but adjusting to a new life is difficult.While I am excited to be here, the thought of staying for two years freaks me out a little. A lot of what I have heard about Bangkok is accurate. It's often not a super fun place to be because, although the food is good, and everyone smiles at everyone...it's dirty, hot, and smelly, and the spiritual darkness is hard to...witness. However, like any new experience, it gives me a little anxiety, and will just simply take time to adjust.
I have already felt challenged and a little sad being here...but I would invite you to join me in praising God for all of the many ways I have also been sooo comforted! From some of you back at home and from those here with me! Hallelujah!
