On God's Incredible Forgiveness

By on Track: Languages - Linguistics Region: Asia - Central

This month, I have been reflecting a lot on God's love and what that looks like in my life. I am amazed again and again about how perfect God's forgiveness is. When I sin and ask for forgiveness, He doesn't go off in the corner and pout for a while before coming back to begrudgingly grant my request. He forgives instantly, unconditionally, and completely! He longs to forgive me, even before I ask for it. He never says, “Now that I've forgiven you, will you give me ____?” He just forgives and will never bring my sin up ever again! He doesn't think of me as a failure and he will never try to… Read more >>

A Retreat to the Mountains

By on Track: Languages - Linguistics Region: Asia - Central

Last month with the arrival of our 6-months here in India, we headed up to a mountain town called Mussoorie in the foothills of the Himalayas of Northern India! We attended a language school there for four weeks, where we discovered more of the ins-and-outs of Hindi grammar. God also brought us an amazing conversation partner, who is a believer! We had heard about her from some friends, and were walking along the road one day when we met her outside her house doing laundry! She told us that, just last week, a large number of her students had left and she was praying to God for more work. And… Read more >>

Six Months!

By on Track: Languages - Linguistics Region: Asia - Central

As I reflect on the past six months here in India, I am reminded again and again of God's desire for India to know Him as the One and Only true God. That He is the most powerful, the most holy, the most loving, and the most gracious supernatural being that there is! I am also reminded with every ringing bell, every Hindu shrine, and every Muslim call-to-prayer that an understanding of God's true character is not yet part of their reality. How God longs to draw these people to Himself!! How sad He is that they are living outside of a relationship with Him! I long to see the spiritual landscape… Read more >>

“For at that time I will change the speech of the peoples to a pure speech, that all of them may call upon the name of the Lord and serve him with one accord” ~Zephaniah 3:9 The past few weeks at the storying workshop in Southern India were incredible and filled with eye-opening stories of how God has been working and is continuing to work in this part of the world! There were about 25 people attending the workshop, from 3 different language groups, all speaking the common trade language of Kannada. The purpose of the workshops are to train these believers how to craft Bible stories in their… Read more >>

Living Life

By on Track: Languages - Linguistics Region: Asia - Central

Just this morning, I read in the Bible, “How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those who bring good news, who proclaim peace, who bring good tidings, who proclaim salvation” (Isa. 52:7). This verse reminded me of the majesty, the goodness, the excitement, the absolute greatness of the message we are here on earth to share! Despite the fact that people might reject this message and us for bringing it, the truth still remains that this message is the most gracious, life-changing, and joyous news there has ever been!  This verse also makes me think of Esther, a 14-year-old girl I… Read more >>
