“What no eye has seen, nor ear heard, nor the heart of man imagined, what God has prepared for those who love him.” ~1 Corinthians 2:9 As I thought about what to write about this month, God brought this verse to my mind. I've always thought of this verse in terms of the future, like the place Jesus is building for us in heaven, the new bodies we'll receive, and finally being face-to-face with Jesus!! Bringing God to the Forefront
This morning, I read Jesus' parable about the woman who had ten coins and lost one. She “lit a lamp, swept the house and sought diligently until she found it” (Luke 15:8). After she found it, “she called together her friends and neighbors, and said, 'Rejoice with me, for I have found the coin that I had lost!'” I thought about a time in my own life when I lost some money. It was only about $15, but I felt cheated! If I had never had that $15 in the first place, I wouldn't have minded so much. Dear Friend, As I was reflecting on the past year in India, I was thinking about how exactly I have been spending my time here and this verse from Hosea stuck out to me. I have been helping others “press on to know the Lord” as well as “pressing on” to know Him myself. There are days where I am overwhelmed by the depravity of the spiritual condition here in India. The Good Part
Back in the beginning of October, I was making the hour-long vikram ride to my storying group in the outskirts of my city. I had been on vacation and hadn't seen my people for a while, so I was excited to reconnect and get back in the groove of meeting with them. When we got to our destination, to our disappointment, the door was locked and remained so, even after much knocking.
