Exciting Developments

Posted on Sunday, March 16, 2014

In case you haven’t read any of my previous blogs, I’ve had the privilege of seeing a few guys from a young men’s refugee shelter come to faith.  They’ve been growing tremendously in their walk despite the many challenges of being refugees.  I’d like to share a snippet of recent happenings in their lives—

A couple weeks ago *Ali had a fit of seizures and was sent to the hospital.  He stayed there for about two weeks waiting for the mysterious illness to pass.  While he was in the hospital, he had a series of dreams about Jesus, through which God tremendously impacted his heart.  Ali elaborated on how God worked through his sufferings while he was bedridden—his faith had grown tremendously, he no longer had a desire to get out of the country to find a better life elsewhere, and now has a burning desire to bring the gospel to his friends in here, or wherever else God calls him.  This was made especially clear when, a couple days ago, he went out to a refugee-filled neighborhood to share his testimony and bring good news to a group of 10 of his friends.

*Sahad has also experienced a radical transition in his own life.  Though all of the surrounding circumstances are yet unclear, he has gone back to his home country with the intention of bringing Jesus to those who don’t know Him.  This country is one where professing faith in Christ means execution, so please lift him up to the Father for heavenly protection.  I just heard that he is safe and has recently found a small fellowship.

Praise God for working in and through these two brothers!

*Names changed for security
