Educator:
One opportunity is working with children and teens from marginalized people groups. Because their parents are mostly migrant workers, the students are unable to attend regular school. Another opportunity is working alongside a project in a Thai slum community with children and teens helping teach English and doing community outreach and development.
Advocate:
In this role you will be supporting an existing Thai-led ministry by connecting with Thai women in the sex industry who have never heard the gospel. This could include going on bar outreaches, following up on contacts made with women in the bars, teaching life skills classes, and participating and supporting the ministry's aftercare rehabilitation program.
Planter:
In this role you will work with an established church-planting ministry by teaching English classes to students (primarily teens and young adults) using Bible-based curriculum. You will get to connect with English students outside of classes by inviting your students into your life with sports, board games, travel excursions, and simply eating meals together for both connection and evangelism.

Located in the 10/40 window, Bangkok is an unreached megacity with only 1% Evangelical Christians. It is strategic not only because of its influence on Thailand, but also on all of Asia. God has brought many unreached people groups from surrounding countries to Thailand for work or sanctuary. Normally difficult to reach due to political and geographical barriers, they are now in a land of religious freedom where they can hear the Gospel.
We are looking for relational self-starters who are willing to cross these challenging barriers of language and socio-economic conditions to develop pathways for connecting with both Thai and non-Thai children and families of marginalized communities.
This opportunity has two possible ministry locations. The first is working with non-Thai students from marginalized people groups, both children and teens. Because their parents are mostly migrant workers, the students are unable to attend regular school. The second opportunity is working alongside a community project in a Thai slum community. This Goer would be working with both children and teens, helping to teach English as well as doing community development and outreach. Past teaching experience and credentials are preferred but not required.
Advocate:
Bangkok, the Buddhist megacity of millions, is categorized as unreached with about 1% Evangelical Christians. Sadly, this international hub is also home to many of the biggest red-light districts in the world. Through many years of prayer and ministry, the Thai church is growing in depth and width, and yet is still an extremely small minority. As locals mobilize outwards into every facet of society, including the sex industry, cross-cultural workers have valuable roles in serving to encourage and empower their efforts. We need those who will lovingly dig deep into the complex social problems surrounding the sex industry of Bangkok. We are looking for relational self-starters willing to cross language and socio-economic barriers to develop pathways for connecting with Thai women who have never heard the gospel.
This placement is for females who have a deep love for people, as the main focus will be building relationships with Thai women in the red-light districts. They will be supporting an existing Thai-lead ministry, which could include going on bar outreaches, following up on contacts made with women in the bars, teaching life skills classes, and participating and supporting the ministry's aftercare rehabilitation program.
Planter:
The Urban Church Planting with English ministry serves throughout communities in Bangkok. This capital city of millions is majority Buddhist and categorized as unreached with only 1% Evangelical Christian. Thais wanting to improve their life and open doors to new experiences are curious and excited to learn English from a native speaker, thus opening doors to sharing the Gospel.
Working with an established church-planting ministry, Goers teach quality English classes using Bible-based curriculum, to meet both a desire for English as well as meet the unspoken desire to understand their Creator. Students are primarily teens and young adults eager for connection. Connecting with the English students outside of the daily classes is vital for relationship and evangelism.
Extra connection points are flexible, depending on the Goer’s own passions and interests. By inviting your students into your life with sports like pickleball, badminton, or basketball; board games; travel excursions and simply eating meals together, you can effectively share the Gospel in word and deed.
