Armenia is a beautiful and unique country in the greater Middle East. Armenia is known for its beautiful landscapes, its cuisine, culture, and history. Since Armenia was the first country to officially adopt Christianity, you can find some of the world’s oldest churches and monasteries in beautiful natural settings. Regarding safety, Armenia is one of the safest countries in the world with very low crime levels. Especially in summer, you can find a lot of locals and tourists walking on the street till midnight. The locals are quick to help you if you seem to be confused or lost. Armenia has its own alphabet and it is one of the most advanced in the world. The Armenian alphabet was created in 405-406 and the first book that was translated into Armenian was the Bible.

However, today most of the 94% of Armenians who claim to be Christians only follow the religious tradition and are in great need of spiritual revival.

After the Karabagh war most of the borders of the country were closed; while the economy was isolated. Most of the students find no purpose and no hope for their future in Armenia. These issues push young people to look for opportunities abroad. Many Armenians, out of the total population of about 2.7 million, leave the country permanently.

Socio-economic and spiritual struggles overwhelm students in Armenia and put them at a crossroads where knowing Jesus Christ personally becomes crucial as they seek guidance and wisdom in life.

About 114,000 students study in 77 universities in Armenia. Armenia is an island of Christianity in the Muslim world, bordering Turkey, Iran, and Azerbaijan. About 8,000 international and non-resident students study in Yerevan, mainly Indians, Iranians, Russians, and students from Sri Lanka and Arabic-speaking countries.

We bring to life programs that lead students to a living personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Crossroad is not allowed to enter the universities. But we do not give up!

Today’s students are Armenia’s future intellectual elite. We are called to raise a new generation of leaders. Crossroads shares the Good News with students, raises and disciples Christian students from different denominations to be proactive leaders and passionate witnesses on their campuses. Come join our team and you will have the option to work with either International students or Armenian students and you will get the needed training to do what you feel the Lord is calling you to.
