Furniture Friends is a ministry that provides free furniture for international students at the University of Arkansas and resettled Refugees in our area. We receive furniture donations from the community, furniture stores, and businesses. We then partner with church groups and other believers to help us deliver items to families while making relational connections that open doors for us to share the hope of Christ with peoples from all over the world. Most students and refugees are coming from the 10/40 window (area of the world most unreached areas with the gospel). We served 360+ international families last year. We are in need of more ministry team members to help us on the furniture (business) side and the ministry engagement (relational side).
This role is responsible for engaging both international students and refugees in the Fayetteville, Arkansas and Northwest Arkansas area. You will have the opportunity to find various ways of loving internationals like Jesus does while also finding effective ways to share the gospel with them. Students and refugees may be Muslim, Hindu, Buddhist, Animistic, or another religion. You will be engaging with people from all these worldviews and religions. You will find times to visit these families and individuals to spend time with them, help with various needs they have and build loving friendships with them through the Furniture Friends ministry platform. This role will work together with other teammates on the Furniture Friends team who are also learning and growing in areas of effectively sharing Jesus with international neighbors.
Don't think you have to know all the answers or how to do everything on your own. Our team is here to help model and mentor you through the process as you gain knowledge, experience, and confidence in sharing Jesus through various ministry tools.
A willingness to learn and listen well
A passion to share Jesus with people from a variety of world religions
Some experience in church ministry involvement, discipleship, short-term mission trips, or college ministry would be very helpful.
