Santiago de Compostela, the heart of Galicia and final stop on the Camino, is a city rich in culture, history, and global connection. While known for its spiritual significance, it’s also a vibrant community facing real challenges. Our work centers on helping people reconnect with themselves, the world, and their Creator through community transformation—investing in small businesses, sustainability, and social inclusion to empower lasting local impact.
Walk alongside the hurting and overlooked in Santiago to promote wellbeing, healing, and a deep sense of belonging among vulnerable groups in Santiago — especially women, migrants, and families in transition — by embedding trauma-informed practices, peer support, and relational safety into every layer of community life along with relational discipleship rooted in the Gospel.
Responsibilities:
Create Restorative Spaces of Belonging
Design and facilitate regular gatherings across programs like Voces Mujeres, Pilgrim House, and youth groups that foster safety, connection, and emotional expression. These Christ-centered spaces may include storytelling circles, shared meals, Sabbath retreats, healing prayer, or Scripture-based reflection—designed to restore dignity and build family across cultural and personal divides.
Offer Trauma-Aware Care & Referrals
Provide one-on-one, Spirit-led support for those experiencing trauma, grief, or transition — including vulnerable women, pilgrims, and farmers. Maintain a trusted referral network for mental health, legal aid, and family services, while walking with individuals in dignity and prayer. Equip community members with practical tools for resilience, emotional regulation, and hope.
Equip Others for Healing-Centered Ministry
Train staff, volunteers, and local leaders in trauma-informed care, active listening, crisis response, and conflict transformation. Empower women, interns, and young leaders to minister within their own contexts, multiplying the impact of compassionate care.
Discern Needs & Shape Holistic Interventions
Regularly listen for emotional, relational, or systemic patterns in the community, especially among migrants, single mothers, rural families, and pilgrims. Collaborate with the broader team to design responsive interventions.
