Communications Specialist

Bulgaria is a wonderful, beautiful, and fascinating country in the southeast corner of Europe. For millennia, it has been the transportation neck connecting Europe to Asia, Africa and the Middle East, a crossroad and melting pot for people from the entire eastern hemisphere. Home to ten UNESCO World Heritage sites, the variety of historical, cultural and natural beauty would keep even the most ardent fan busy for a lifetime.

We are looking for a qualified Communications Specialist for full time assignment to our headquarters in Sofia, Bulgaria. Our organization believes in inhabiting secular spaces for Christ, and so we develop local businesses, foundations, and educational programs to demonstrate the beauty of living authentic Christian lives. In relation to our various areas of work, this position is responsible for both inbound and outbound communication with a variety of constituencies including members, donors, colleagues, grantors, grantees, ministry recipients, partner organizations and the public at large.

In addition to their specific duties, the Communications Specialist is expected to participate in discussions and activities leading to successful development of our team as it strives to achieve its evangelistic mission in the Balkans.

As a visible member of the missions community, the Communications Specialist is expected to live a life of good character and strong Christian witness. Local church participation is required. Active church ministry is recommended to the extent able without compromising their ability to complete assigned duties.

Principal duties and responsibilities:

Writing and editing our monthly newsletter

Writing and posting of press releases

Producing reports, articles and presentations about our activities

Producing reports, articles and presentations about our grantees

Writing for our website

Donor relations, including appeals, letters and regular updates.

Other communications materials as needed

This position will work closely with the senior staff to develop and implement effective image campaigns suitable for recruiting, team building and promotion of our NFP and its various projects in the Balkans, like the community development and educational programs offered by the PINK Foundation, a life transformation program for children. You will participate in activities including community and family outreach, extra-curricular activities for children, outdoor adventures, English clubs, and more.
