Arabic Student and Ministry Partner

Ministry Partners have the opportunity to live and minister in a megacity of North Africa. Our city is full of beauty, history, and warm people, as well as poverty, harassment, and sometimes harsh weather. A land of oceans, deserts, and mountains, the country’s geographical landscape is diverse, but so is its religious landscape. For centuries, it has played a vital role in the development of Islam both intellectually, spiritually, and socially. Islamic scholars from around the Muslim world travel to this region for further education. However, the minority Christian Church endures and the opportunity to partner with faithful brothers and sisters in outreach to see a movement is growing each year.

In recent years, the country has continued to face severe economic challenges. Although the country has had economic growth in recent years it is amidst enduring high inflation and reduced living standards. It is estimated that over 1 million asylum seekers live in the city from nearby countries due to ongoing political and civil unrest, poor economies, and ongoing wars.

The context of our ministry is challenging and requires devoted followers of Jesus Christ that are deeply motivated by their personal relationship with God. The longer our team remains in this city, the more ministry opportunities we find. In fact, the opportunities far outweigh our team’s current capacity. We seek to both learn from and work alongside the local believers, ministering to those around us spiritually and tangibly. For each member, this looks different, however, we use the gifts, passions, and capacities the Lord has given us. An irreplaceable component in all we do, is knowing the language. Without it, we couldn’t be in the relationships we are and the work we do.

As the team grows, language and cultural understanding continue to deepen, opportunities for outreach and discipleship expand. Arabic Students and Ministry Partners will be able to pursue deep language and cultural acquisition, relationships with locals and various ministries, allowing them to seek out ministry opportunities through guidance from team leadership to develop and further pursue what potential opportunities lay before them.
