Steadfast. I have been reflecting a lot lately on this specific characteristic of our God. I have been dwelling in this idea of being steadfast because lately I have felt anything but steadfast. I desperately wish to reflect this aspect of the image of God. I have felt like the past few months have made me painfully aware of my humanity. I am a human who constantly fails and I am desperately in need of and dependent on the grace of Je$us. The beautiful thing is that HE IS steadfast. Always. I am learning what it means to be steadfast in many ways, including being steadfast in surrender. I’m constantly picking up insecurities, bad attitudes, and other things that I have already laid at the feet of Je$us. I need to be steadfast in surrendering to him every day- laying down all that he has called me to. Each day I must choose to surrender all my insecurities, my plans, my worries, doubts, and even my very heart itself. Every day I have to choose again to be here- and to be fully here. And trust me, that only comes through his grace. God is steadfast. And he meets us exactly where we are. He meets us in our weakest weakness as well as in our time of strength and everywhere in between. He always shows up. He always comes. And for that I praise him!!
Over the past two months I have begun working more consistently in the clinic, which I have enjoyed. I have been learning nursing skills, working with the doctors, and learning a whole lot about ophthalmology! Other than working at the clinic and continuing language learning, and the summer months have been busy planning and putting on a week long sports camp. We went out of the city with about 30 young adults for a week where we had a great time playing sports, doing art projects, playing games, reading stories from the go$pel, having deep conversations, and getting very little sleep!! It was fun and exhausting, but God was definitely working and one guy (he’s been coming to sports club for about a month or so) made a decision to follow Je$us that week! Thank you all who have been praying alongside me for my friend Zarrina. A few weeks ago she decided to give her heart to J and follow him!! I am so thankful to have had the opportunity to walk alongside her as she wrestled to find truth and I am blessed to continue discipling her!!!
