Why am I doing this? Why am I choosing to go? I am called. I am being obedient. My time in college led me to consider what it truly means to be a follower of Jesus. As followers of Jesus we are all called to serve and to witness to his name everywhere we go. As I looked inward to discover what it means for me to be a follower of Jesus, I discovered it is not about me. This life is not about me, my life is not my own. It is all about loving God and serving others. This can look different for all believers; however, I have felt the Lord call me to do this through global missions. I was also made aware of 3 billion people in the world that do not have access to the gospel. Jesus is where I find my hope, joy, and purpose for my life and I cannot imagine not knowing him and personally experiencing his love. It absolutely breaks my heart to think of people that are without access to the amazing news of who Jesus is! I am going because I cannot not go. I cannot continue life and not respond to the great need in the world and the calling the Lord has placed on my heart.
“However, I consider my life worth nothing to me; my only aim is to finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me—the task of testifying to the good news of God’s grace" Acts 20:24
