Isaiah 40:31 (ESV)
“…but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength;
they shall mount up with wings like eagles;
they shall run and not be weary;
they shall walk and not faint.”
I graduated from Grand Canyon University just 38 days ago with a degree in Business. If you had asked me a year ago what I thought I’d be doing now, I would have painted a very different picture of my post-grad life. But in my final years of college, God led me down an unexpected and exciting path.
Getting involved with GoCorps, learning about the global mission’s movement, and striving to walk with the Lord throughout this discernment process opened the door to a life-changing opportunity. Because of these things, this journey has been one that I’ve wholeheartedly embraced and that has brought me to where I am today.
My first year at college was challenging. I had ended up placing value on things separated from God, progressively getting more and more bitter towards my situation. So, I decided to make a change and began to take my faith seriously. As I drew nearer to God leading up to my senior year at GCU, I felt Him stirring my heart toward missions. My heart grew heavy for those around the world living in spiritual darkness, without the truth and hope of the gospel.
It’s because of that burden, and the encouragement of the incredible mobilizers in my life, that I was able to confidently step into this calling as a Goer for 2025. All that to say, I believe God is working—and will continue to work—through GoCorps, the other Goers, and our sending organizations to bring the astounding peace of the gospel to others.
Lord, help us to wait on You, renew our strength in You, and run with endurance the race You have set before us! Amen.
