I've been in Berlin (almost) 5 Months!
The start of this year has brought some really big blessings. The first was on January 8 I moved into an apartment! The whole apartment search for me was crazy fast - it took less than a month. I only applied for around 8 places while some of my colleagues have applied for around 100. This is a HUGE HUGE praise how quickly Jesus provided such an amazing apartment as Berlin's housing market is quite competitive.
I have a balcony connected to my room which looks out to a cute little roundabout with different shops and restaurants. In the center of the roundabout is an old church bell tower. It's unfortunately currently under construction to be turned into luxurious apartments, but the bell still rings once a day. I love hearing the bell and have used it as a reminder for me to be praying for my flatmate, neighborhood and Berlin as a whole.
In the past month I also finished B1.1 language class, welcomed a new teammate to Berlin and finally feel like I have actual real friendships here. I've been able to participate and observe a church planting group in my neighborhood as well which is very exciting! Looking ahead, I hope to have both my church and ministry placements finalized in roughly the next month.
It's amazing to reflect back and consider how far I've come in the past 5 months, and all that I've learned. Praise Jesus for providing and being a constant companion through all the ups and downs.
