Perspective on Doubt in My Life

Posted on Thursday, October 7, 2021

Hello. I haven’t really done one of these before, so buckle up, because I am figuring out this whole thing as I am writing it.

I figured I could write about my perspective on fundraising at this point. I am currently early on in my fundraising campaign, and I can confidently say I do not know if I have ever been this scared for the future. It is so hard to see what God is doing in my life when all I can see is where the future can go wrong. My fears are at this point: I don’t even get close to my full funding, I cannot go, I am basically left jobless and living at home. I am aware that God can do all things and that it is ridiculous to see my financial goals as insurmountable in front of God, but trust requires a lack of doubt.

For me, doubt is being too scared to move because I cannot see what is in my future, and believing that I could plan my future better than God could. Funny enough, as it happens, I have struggled with doubt for a long time. If I had my way, I would have incredible success in my fundraising and I would have been done within two weeks, but the best things take the longest to come to fruition.

This fundraising season has brought me incredible spiritual highs and deep, almost inescapable, lows. My faith, at the moment, is being rocked daily. There is one small light though. When I raise my funds and I see how God has provided for me despite my overwhelming doubts, it will become another story for me to tell when witnessing to others about how God has worked in my life. I am excited to abandon my doubt to see what God will do in my life, just as He has worked in my life before!

Congratulations! You made it through this blog. I appreciate you being willing to read my thoughts and perspectives! My fight against my doubt is not done, and I am always in desperate need of prayer, soI would greatly appreciate your prayers of support for courage and trust in the Lord as I am fundraising.

Sincerely,

Peyton Scott
