Home SWEET home

Posted on Wednesday, July 28, 2021

Hello friends!

This fall I move to Bulgaria in order to answer the call and respond to local bulgarian community needs through medical and minstry work, HOW WONDERFUL?!

My hope for this blog is for it to be a tool used to share insight, thoughts, expirience, personal growth, and to process through topics that the Lord places on my heart. I have never been much of a writer but am seriously looking forward to sharing with both friends and family through written words. I hope you find each post encouraging, thought provoking, educational, or simply entertaining. It's a honor to share with you. truly.

Here are some thoughts I've had over the last month in figuring out what it means to be at home and what the word 'home' really encompases.

HOME...

Is it a location? A building with structure? A feeling or mindset? Maybe it's people, family and community? Or what if it's where our memories are made or remain? When we get to live as we were created?

Home.. what is Home for me?

Home is a house of little memories collected and lived

Home is a warm hug from the beloved that bore my life

Home is the cool dry air in the high dessert of Central Oregon

Home is a table with shared food and significant faces

Home is hearts in deep connection

Home is a big ol’ jumble of opinions

Home is sunshine coming through the curtains to light a newly gifted day

Home is shared interests and unique mindsets

Home is being known for your small things

Home is conversations that move from tears to freedom

Home is family pie

Home is blowing bubbles on a mountain top, or staring transfixed at the stars

Home is living in truth

Home is being listened to and laughed with

Home is getting an invitation followed by excitement

Home is messy, a space for growth

Home is love when you don’t want to

Home IS LOVE... patient, kind, without envy or a boastful or arrogant heart, not insisting of our own way and void of resentment or irritation. There's no enjoyment in doing wrong but full joy in the truth; bearing all, believing all, hoping in all, and enduring all. (1 Corinthians 13:4-7)

Home is pursuing love, so do we ever really leave home at all?
