IT'S HAPPENING! Wow, I am a month into support raising and actively preparing to move 5,000 miles away to minister to refugees. Is this real life?! But it is real, this is happening, all by the power and directing of our Good God.
I am not who I thought God would use for this job. I don’t have the ideal resume for this role, I am young and just starting to figure out life, and I am not a perfect Christian. But the Lord doesn’t call us to be perfect in order to be used, He just desires our ‘yes’ and willingness to submit to Him in every aspect of life. This doesn’t always look pretty, there is a lot of wrestling, and you may just want God to shout the next step at you, but it is all worth it. I have seen the Lord move in incredible and unexpected ways since I put my shaky and humble ‘yes’ on the table 2 years ago. I watched as God softened my controlling heart to embrace the waiting, I watched as He provided me with answers of peace as I explored ministry instead of the medical field, I watched Him transform my family member’s views on missions and the church. He was with me through it all and He provided what I needed.
Now here I am preparing to go, and I can look back on my college journey and see the amazing ways that God has prepared me and equipped me for this placement in the Middle East. The Lord is using me, a girl from a small town who studied biology, to love and share hope with refugees in a holistic way in the Middle East. I am so amazed by the Lord because He is able to do so much more through broken people than we could ever plan for ourselves.
Ephesians 3:20-21 "Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen"
