Hello!
Let me just brag for a second on how good God is. Less than a month ago I was sitting at home stressed out, wondering how God was going to complete my support raising in such little time. I felt very behind and was wondering if I should start making plans for the next launch cycle (which is around September). But I kept asking God to provide and show up in unexpected ways. And you know what happened? He did exactly that! Here are two amazing stories from support raising.
This happened the weekend before my support raising deadline. I had been referred to an individual that someone thought would be interested to hear my story. I didn’t call right away but called a few days later to set up a meeting and tell him about the work I will be doing. It happened that he had no openings to meet with me until after my deadline had already passed, except at that very moment in time when I had called him. We did the meeting right there and he said he would ask the board. However, they were not going to meet until the end of February. After informing him of my deadline, he said he would see if the team could make a decision sooner and within one or two days later they had made their decision to support me! If I had not been referred him and prompted to call him at that exact moment, I would not have been able to make the connection in time.
The second story of God showing up is from a dear friend from high school. I originally met with her in December and she graciously gave me a single gift. As we continued to talk and she asked how I was coming over the next two months, she found out I was getting very close to my goal. A few days later I had a message from her saying she had prayed about it and felt God calling her to finish up my support raising and become a monthly partner with me. With these two final gifts, I finished my funding two days before my deadline. Talk about God’s timing.
While it has been a wild ride getting to this point, I have learned so much and grown closer to God. He has taught me a lot about simply trusting in Him and his provision. I am grateful for the experience of support raising, a phrase I never though I would say.
