Jesus for the Nations

Posted on Friday, November 20, 2020

Hello there, potential goers, family, and friends,

Thank you for reading and subscribing to my blog. In my blogs, I will be referred to as Christine for protection reasons.

I am an APU alum and passionate about sharing the love and forgiveness of Jesus with others. Just as Christ has changed my life, so too he desires the world to know his unconditional love that transforms.

I’m thrilled to share with you that I am heading overseas to serve for two years in the Middle East. I honestly didn't think it would be possible to go after graduation due to student loans but God made a way through a program my University offered. From that program, I heard about GoCorps and it has done a great job of training me in this season of support raising.

I briefly want to share with you why I have decided to go serve overseas. At a young age, God began to orchestra my life in ways that lead me to this decision. One of those ways is by moving my heart with compassion for those in need around me. Furthermore, my heart for the nations developed after going on a couple of short term mission trips during college. The experiences I encountered on these trips began to move my heart and see the need for Jesus. On my last short term trip to the Middle East, it became clear that this was where the Lord was leading me.

On that three week trip, God began to move my heart and gave me a love for this nation. As I shared the good news with many people I noticed that they were open and receptive. Throughout the trip, Jesus would remind me of two particular verses, Romans 10:14, which says, “How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching?” The second verse is found in 2 Peter 3:9, “The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance.”

These verses began to teach me that Jesus desires for all creation to truly know His love, grace, redemption, and forgiveness and ultimately for them to have a relationship with him. After that trip, I felt that three weeks was not enough time to build relationships and share the wonders of God. This realization brought me to the decision to go for a longer-term. This time around I am excited to share that I will be working with refugees sharing the good news of Christ with them through various ministry programs.

As I embark on this new journey, I am filled with joy to go in obedience. Confidently knowing that God will be with me, he will never leave me nor forsake me, and will uphold me as together we go. God has also called you and will direct your steps as you go in obedience. God will never leave you nor forsake you, God is with you till the end of the age.

Blessings,

Christine
