Tranpsarent Reflection

Posted on Wednesday, May 12, 2021

I've been weary all my life

My bones ache and heave with a deep weariness

My blood thickens and blackens continually

Streams of sorrow through this decaying body

The weariness of life slams against this creaking and straining body

A sea of sorrow is where I drift

An uneasiness churns in the deep

My bow pivots where I would not go

How long will I captain this ship that is not mine

Trapped in the cabin I hide

Up and down and all I see is a vast emptiness

Sea of gray be my end for I see nothing beyond you

Swallow me into the churning depths

I am tired

Weary I am

Weary I will always be

I am weary with a deep weariness

I hang my hat on tomorrow's hook

I soar on wings like eagles

On promises I choose to rest

But I am weary just as I have always been

weary with a deep weariness

I hang my hat in a peaceful place

My eye's glaze over like a dead man's

My bones creak and strain

A light and warm hand rests on my shoulder

Abide in me and I will abide in you.

Revelation 3:20 NASB Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come to him and I will dine with him, and he with Me.

Isaiah 40:31 NIV but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.

Lately, I have been meditating on the word Abide during my time with God. It is lovely to reflect on how his presence is interwoven with my life. I think about all the ways God has shown himself to be faithful while I continue the process of preparing to go to Spain.
