Hello! My name is Amanda Yates and I will be serving in Granada, Spain as a Community Outreach Advocate.
Currently, I am living in Minneapolis where there has been snow on the ground since mid-October. While I will surely miss the snow, I will not miss the hassle of daily living or the biting cold. I have truly loved my time living here and the community and dear friendships that I have here, but when God calls, you Go!
I graduated from University of Northwestern - St. Paul in 2019 with a B.S. in Communication Studies and a minor in Bible and in Art. Since then I have lived in the area and was in a bit of a personal limbo as I waited for God to reveal the next steps of my life. Now I see that times of waiting on God are just as meaningful as the part when really cool stuff happens. I have been working a fun and fulfilling job with people with disabilities, made new friends here, gone out dancing often, and been a part of a small group through my church in the twin cities.
Moving overseas in a missional capacity has remained a pipe dream in the back of my mind for a few years, but I didn't expect that God would say yes to my idea and actually lead me to pack up and Go. On top of that, I will get to use my college degree. Massive W! GoCorps is the organization that God connected me with last October, and He has given abundantly and continued to clearly lead every step. I will keep y'all updated on how he continues to show up!
