Class of 2019
Anti-Trafficking Support Worker in Mexico
Track: Compassion - Justice track
Region: Latin America
Hello! My name is Hannah and I will be serving in Mexico City with United World Mission for two years starting in March 2020, ministering at a refuge home for teenage survivors of sex trafficking. My desire is to be part of their healing journey and to share the gospel with them in word and deed. Please pray with me toward this end, for their salvation, and that I would know the Lord more deeply through this season.

Advent Reflections

By on Track: Compassion - Justice Region: Latin America

The observance of Advent, a time of heart preparation for the celebration of Jesus Christ becoming flesh, is not something I’ve been very aware of or focused on in past years. This year I am seeking to more fully engage in anticipation and longing for the coming of Jesus into our weakness and need as Savior, Counselor, Healer, and Prince of Peace. What a gracious and loving God who would humble Himself in this way to restore to us the relationship with Him that we had rejected! I’m enjoying a weekly advent devotional with the church plant team in Mexico City, and also going through this free… Read more >>

Joy and Sorrow

By on Track: Compassion - Justice Region: Latin America

Joy and Sorrow The spring and summer of the year 2020 has been a roller coaster of emotions and experiences in my life. In March I came back after only three weeks on the mission field I’d committed to for two years, and I have never understood better the meaning of the phrase “having the rug pulled out from under you.” However, I was grateful and confident that God led me to be in Colorado for this time, and it soon became more clear why.  In the month of July I stood up next to two of my dearest friends as they got married. I watched my brother go through two surgeries and an ER visit… Read more >>

A Clay Vessel (Two Blogs in One!)

Featured story By on Track: Compassion - Justice Region: Latin America

3 March 2020 "Therefore, having this ministry by the mercy of God, we do not lose heart. For what we proclaim is not ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, with ourselves as your servants for Jesus' sake. For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. But we have this treasure in jars of clay, to show that the surpassing power belongs to God and not to us." 2 Corinthians 4:1, 5-7 The thesis I took away from training in North Carolina is that I have absolutely nothing to… Read more >>

Every Good and Perfect Gift

By on Track: Compassion - Justice Region: Latin America

"Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change." James 1:17 In answer to many prayers, the Lord has provided my every need in this season of fundraising and preparation for moving to Mexico City. The fundraising process was far from easy-- in fact, I had never experienced more emotional or mental exhaustion than during that time. But by my weakness and introversion, He proved it was His work and not mine. People often credit me for doing a great job of fundraising, but I willingly confess… Read more >>

My Story

By on Track: Compassion - Justice Region: Latin America

Hello! My name is Hannah and I have accepted a position in Mexico City with Avance, a ministry of United World Mission, to serve as a minister of the gospel and of healing in a refuge home for teenage girls rescued from the horrors of human trafficking.  I have felt called to serve God in a cross-cultural context since my sophomore year of high school. That same year, God began implanting in me a deeper, fuller understanding of the Gospel as well as a passion for discipling young women-- my dream is to inspire young women to realize the unchanging foundation of their worth… Read more >>
