During training this past week, I spent time asking God for a promise to hold onto during my time in Southeast Asia. He led me to Revelation 5:9-10:
And they sang a new song, saying:
"You are worthy to take the scroll
and to open its seals,
because you were slain,
and with your blood you purchased for God
persons from every tribe and language and people and nation.
You have made them to be a kingdom and priests to serve our God,
and they will reign on the earth."
I love that Jesus’ death and resurrection has made the way for people of all nations to be reconciled into right relationship with God. As I head into Southeast Asia, I don’t know what the impact of my relationships with others will be. Only God knows the seeds that will be planted and growth that will come. I know that I will be partnering with believers who have followed God’s call in the past, are currently serving, and will be joining me over the next two years. God’s heart for the people in Southeast Asia is being shown through local believers and ambassadors for Christ from other countries. Please partner with me in praying that God strengthens local believers in their faith and knowledge of Him. Please pray that God prepares my heart to learn the local language and culture and to build relationships where His love is shown.
