The Sun Always Rises

Posted on Saturday, November 3, 2018

November is here and the year is almost over. Less than 30 days until I launch to East Africa.

I have been in pre field training the last month and have two more weeks to go.

I decided to write a poem vs the novel I could write of all I've learned.

Something I am relearning is walking in my new identity. Jesus has transformed me and it's okay to walk in it.

Thanks for reading. Until next time friends.

Change is the forever horizon I see ahead

Mountains and valleys I will face

Reluctantly I trudge forward

Still, the sun will rise

You have ruined my life and I am unable to look back

You have removed faulty foundations only to restore

With ones that stand strong

Taken from despair to a place and a reason to sing

A new song that cries out to its maker

Praises, sorrow, deep regret

You say you will take it, of little use

but you transform it

Something new, a life that reflects your glory

Not of my own doing, but yours

Continue to ruin me

Only the beginning

The goodbyes and hellos

The horizon ahead, but I look forward knowing

The sun always rises
