I bless the rains down in Africa

*I know. Toto reference? so original*

Remember when I told myself to not hold on to things too tightly?

What an important lesson to learn over and over again. Like last month, when the plan went out the window. More like ran out the window.

It turns out I'm skipping continents and moving over to Northeast Africa.

Plans change, but our God does not. It all somehow fits together. I sure don't have the master plan, but I know what the end looks like, and it is beautiful.

Soon, I'll be hopping on a plane to reunite with friends as we go through training together. Not long after that, we'll hug goodbye and move to our separate fields. Until then, there are three things I want to remember about this summer.

One: Community is important. Not only are my people fun, they keep me sane. They point me to truth when I can't see clearly.

Two: There is purpose in my story. All of it. Even Especially the messy parts.

Three: Support raising is without a doubt one of the most beautifully challenging things I've done. It requires trust, obedience and faith.

I want to forever remember the rejoicing and mourning this summer has brought. Two years from now, I hope to look back and say "I see it now." For now, I see a task ahead far too big for me. Father invites me in anyway.
