Hi Friends,
I’m thankful to share with you that I’m now in Phoenix, Arizona beginning ministry to refugees with my team. It’s humbling to think how far God has brought me up to this point and where He will continue to lead me in this journey. I’ve been here for almost a month and it’s been quite eventful as I’m getting to know my teammates, learning what my role is on the team, and meeting different refugees in the community.
Within this month of transition, there have definitely been a lot of highs and lows. I don’t like to admit or show it, but change is really hard for me especially when it involves saying goodbye to old communities and navigating into new ones. I don’t like the feelings of sadness and loneliness that come with it. Yet in the midst of those rough emotions, I find myself somehow feeling thankful for them in the deepest parts of my heart because they put me in a place of desperation for Jesus. When I feel deeply sad or lonely, I have no choice but to cry out to Jesus and admit how I can’t do anything without Him. And by His grace, He gives me the courage to take one day at a time with Him. It serves as another reminder to me that Jesus is enough and no matter what I’m feeling or what my circumstances are, it’s going to be okay. Jesus is here, and He’s continuing to work in me and in my communities both old and new.
